2. High School compared to MC

So, this past week in english we had a discussion on how MC compared to our high school years and came up with some pretty interesting answers. I personally felt like high school was fairly repetitive and boring. We went through the same schedule every day and it never seemed like it was going to end. I also felt like everything in high school was based off one standard so that everyone could move on and pass each grade. I think you really hurt kids doing that because you set them up to fail in the higher education. I also felt like I had more freedom in high school. Seems like I could do more of what I wanted there then at MC.

Now dont get me wrong, MC has been very good to me so far and I like it, but there are some things that just drive me insane. Yesterday for example, I have some friends in town from Alabama and one is a girl. Well I am told that we cant even watch a football game in our main lobby because its not open dorm times. See to me that is just kind of ridiculous and upsetting. I dont know why some things here are such a big deal. I just think there are some definite things that this school could change to help me develop more socially.

I have really enjoyed my time so far here at MC. I like the students, teachers, and football, its just sometimes I think we miss out on some of the real college experiences. Now im not trying to offend anyone for choosing MC for this blog but I honestly think this college almost serves as a shelter from the world. I just wish a little more freedom was granted to us. I know we could change some of these rules, it just takes some effort. In the mean time I will try to enjoy the 3 open dorm nights a week.

Thursdays class deffinately got me thinking as well about the comparrison of the two.
I know what you mean.
My high school had tons of rules because it was a private school.
But i feel like we are restrained here because coming from fairhope there is nothing to do in clinton.
which i am sure you know what i mean by that.
